FEATURES
In a rapidly changing and unpredictable world, we foster children's lifelong development of essential necessary abilities and qualities to lead more fulfilling and happy lives through various experiences. Our goal is to help children achieve a balanced development of understanding, knowledge, curiosity, and compassion towards multiculturalism from early childhood.
Through Bible stories and prayers, children come to understand the presence of God and learn that each one of them is a precious being loved by God and those around them. We hope our children embrace the spirit of love and compassion as exemplified in the Bible verse, "Love your neighbor as yourself," which is the founding philosophy of Seirei Gakuen.
We aim for our children to engage with diverse cultures and perspectives, to understand differences as simply "differences," and to cultivate a spirit of respect. In addition to 'English Time' during and beyond regular childcare hours, a native English-speaking teacher is part of the daily routine as one of the main teachers, spending time with the children through play and activities.
We are the first certified International Baccalaureate (IB) World School in the western region of Shizuoka.
Seirei Gakuen became the first IB World School in the western region of Shizuoka to receive certification for the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP)
Through the introduction of the IB program, we aim to cultivate International Mindedness, guiding individuals to think independently, act proactively and creatively, and contribute to the international community.
We provide character education based on our school's fundamental principle, the Christian spirit of "Love Thy Neighbor," and promote advanced English learning and inquiry-based education to meet global standards.

By leveraging Mikatahara's rich natural environment, we are committed to food education. Our children experience the interconnectedness of life through the process of growing, harvesting, and cooking food, fostering an interest in and gratitude towards food. Delicious lunches and snacks, lovingly prepared on – site, are provided daily.
There is a rich natural forest within walking distance, home to many trees, bamboo groves, squirrels, beetles, butterflies, and other creatures, all changing with the seasons. In this natural environment, children's five senses are stimulated many times more than usual, fostering creativity, imagination, patience, wisdom, and more.
The forest also features a fireplace, a gazebo, and a vegetable garden!
Children develop a variety of skills including perseverance budding interest in science, and critical thinking abilities, while also fostering physical agility by playing in the school playground every day. Since 2018, parent and guardian volunteers have been collaborating with childcare workers on the project "School Playground That Supports Children in Growing on Their Own." As the school playground evolves, the children progress rapidly.
Our unique characteristics are explained at the enrollment orientation. The orientation for children certified Type 1 (kindergarten) typically takes place in May each year, while the orientation for children certified Type 2 or Type 3 (nursery) is usually held around September. For the latest information on enrollment orientation, please check the NEWS section.
Additionally, we hold "Oyako-hiroba" events every month for parents and their children aged 0 to 2 years old.We also have "School Playground Open Day," where you can bring your child to play in our school playground. Please feel free to join us with your child.
